"Come on out and find out about the best time to write, how long sentences and paragraphes should be as well as how to express your thoughts/feelings/emotions," explains Lyles--- who is based in California--- and whose poems, celebrity feature articles, columns and photographs have appeared in over 50 publications, including Modern People, The National Insider, The Strand Book Of Modern Verse, The American Poetry League Bulletin, The International Who's Who In Poetry Anthology, The National Afro-American, The St. Louis (Missouri) Argus, The Michigan Chronilce and several small, independent anthologies. Lyles is pictured here with pulitizer prize winning poet-professor Yusef Komanagaa, poet-professor-playwright Samuel John Hago and author-philanthropist-Amway Corporation's co-founder Jay Van Andel as well as former (NBA) Los Angeles Lakers legend/Los Angeles Dodgers Executive-poet Tommy Hawkins.
"It is important to learn or find out what time of the day you are most creative--in the morning, at mid-day, in the evening or at night," believes the Native Texan who was appointed a Texas Goodwill Ambassador by the late Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock in 1994. As soon as you start writing you will learn, concludes the noted workshop leader, that it is rare that any writer get a manuscript perfect after a first draft as all of us must revise and edit our work/manuscript. Lastly, the writer who is listed in the International Writers' And Authors' Who's Who, says any attendee can bring one short poem or a manuscript he/she is working on for feedback from the other writers/would-be-writers in attendance at this program and the presenter.
